Brief History
  This car was introduced at the Paris Salon in October 1973. The two small rear seats showed that Ferrari did look at the Porsche 911 when they developed the 308 GT4. The body was designed by Bertone, the first time since the mid '50s not designed by Pininfarina, and also the last time, and made by Scaglieti in Modena.
It was fabricated in steel with aluminium for the boot engine and front lid skins.
The GT4 had a new engine, work of engineer Franco Rocchi, which produced 255 hbp at 7,600 rpm. This new engine was a 90 degree V8 with four overhead cramshafts, hemispherical combustion chambers and a bore and stroke inherited straight from the Daytona.
The GT4 was fitted with Michelin 205/70 VR 14 radials.

In March 1975 the 208 GT4 made its enterance alongside the 308. This model had a two litre, 170 hbp engine and was built exclusively for the Italian market.

In the summer of 1976 the Dino 308 became a Ferrari, which involved changing all the badges from "Dino" to the "Prancing Horse".

The production was from 1973 to 1980. The first 308 GT4 was s/n 08354, the last was s/n 15474. In total there were 2,826 308 GT4s built and 840 208 GT4s.
